One pass of 4 colors with the #airbrush and then 2colors sponged on with a brown pigment wash. The colors are pulling the #stripmall together and weathering for the apocalypse.

Post Apoc Stripmall pt2
I wanted some signs and banners for the #stripmall #model so I chopped up some junk mail and made some #collage.
Think these will bring in some bright colors and liven it up a lot. It’s definitely odd working at this size but fun and I could chop with abandon since its was trash anyway, no need to be precious #trashbash #terrain
Someone called Vince Michael at the Inq group on facebook has been doing excellent terrain and a feature thats popped up for me a few times now has been the little prayer flags, so I thought I’d add a few here as well, its a nice way to bring in a bit of color and texture.
I attached a fan mesh to the roof and bent it up, added the #collages inside the exterior window displays and chopped up some clear blister pack plastic to make smashed windows.
I’m adding a mixture of sand, cement, and plaster chips for the ground texture and to blend things together. #wasteland #terrain #miniature
Fired up the #airbrush a bit, starting to build up base colors on the #strip mall and objectives, I wish I’d learned the silly putty masking trick earlier could have saved so many rolls of tape #model #terrain #painting
Post Apoc Stripmall pt1
It seems like every #postapocalyptic gang must get their costumes from sporting goods stores and sex shops, so any good apoc landscape has to have a strip like this. It’s a long way to go for a joke but I’m amused.
I found an interesting bit of packaging material, cut off a chunk of it and decided to make a #miniature strip mall. I used a few #trashbash doors misc hardware and a cookie tray for the roof, and stamped out names with an old label maker.
The little alcoves will make good window displays, and I feel like it’s taking shape quickly. #terrain #wargaming #model #stripmall
Since the #stripmall has an opened side I’ll need something for the interior. I’m not ready to undertake making full shops for this one, and just cramming it with rubble feels like a cop out, so closed shops with security gates and tarps it is!
I’ve got to get this in here before mounting it to a base, so I flipped it over and bent a scrap of mesh for the gates, backed it with foil, or cloth and filled them with bubble wrap. I added some scrap wood pillars between the shops and am calling it ready to mount #modeling #miniature #terrain #postapocalyptic #trashbash
One last touch, broken windows from blisterpack plastic!
Colonial marines PDF Imperial guardsmen
I took some plastic #roguetrader era plastic guardsmen and a few kitbashed Aliens character miniatures from Leading edge that I picked up back in about 1995, (from SoL)

Some quick reprints on old #miniatures to fill out this themed squad of planetary defense fighters #40k #aliens #wargaming
Orktimus Prime
Many years ago, maybe 12? I took a #gamesworkshop #ork trukk kit and some ball and socket joints and kitbashed it into a cab over rig. Then carefully copied the design of the gen1 #optimusprime to make my own #OrktimusPrime I was heavily influenced by one I’d seen back on the waaagh forum and looted the idea. I’ve decided to revisit this model since my #robotfactory is giving me modular parts, and this guy always lacked weapons. It might finally be time to finish him up #kitbash #wargaming #transformers #40k
Catch a riiiiiide!
For the Feb #trashbash challenge I took part of an ever useful broken transformer toy,
I combined it with misc hardware cast resin bits, string and staples to make a #wasteland console.
Taking more inspiration from the #borderlands catch-a-ride station.
I’m particularly font of the opening and closing action I kept from the toy.
I’d consider this objective complete and ready for paint now, which means I’ve got a few things lined up to throw pigments at… #terrain #wargaming #sculpture #kitbashing
