Spruins I’ve got some paint on these now, just the main materials blocked out, which was pretty easy since its all going to be metal. I started with three shades of primer; grey black and white to get some variation and break up shapes while tying it all together with a bit of pre-shading. Then I sponged on a bunch of #stuartsemple silver paint, to get some reflective shine in areas, using a sponge to get some irregular patterning to it. After that I went back over it all with the #airbrush with some Vallejo black metal, to tone down the shone and hint at some burnt/oily surfaces. Next up, dirt and earth to ground it… #terrain #kitbash #weathering #necromunda #refinery

I’ve been combining bottles, sprue, laser cut scraps, 3d print supports, random curft, a bunch of resin cast greeblies and a few broken up plaster ones, and a GW set to make this refinery set. I cut a sheet of hardboard to the size of a ikea billy shelf, for the overall footprint, to ensure it will be easy to display. Then I cut that board up for each of the modular parts so that it would be configurable on the table in a variety of ways. Next steps; primer, grout, sand, and paint… #terrain #refinery #40k #necromunda
Progress on the #vault I added plaster and sand, and rigged a cast resin cog hinged up with some leftover laser cut scraps. Gave it a quick once over with paint and some flock. I’m pretty stoked with how well its come together for a basically 2 day build! #terrain #fallout #trashbash #kitbashing
I quickly brown painted the dirt/earth sections, I’m pretty happy with how these laser cut MDF scraps worked out for the framing
Then airbrushed the metal sections
Sponged in some highlights and added a bit of flock and a few drops of alcohol ink for the weathering/rust
Since I just finished reading Cryptonomicon I had to include a little joke with the vault number.
