Classic design deodorant speeder. 1day build. Ready for paint
Checking how the assembled #castellax fit in their alcoves next to work out how to magnetize the arms and weapons #30k #model #inq28 #40k #miniature I’m particularly happy with the way they fill the alcoves and the overall look of the #churchtank especially with the LED lights in it
More assembly on the #Thanatar #model the legs were tricky since the hydraulics and supports for each were separate parts and I had to work out the pose as I glued them together. I went for a very static grounded pose to emphasize the size and bulk of him but I would dig doing another in a more active dynamic pose, the kit has a lot of potential. I’m still fighting the urge to magnetize him, May do the arms and shoulder cannon, but so far haven’t used any. #mechanicum #30k #40k #warhammer40k
Starting to paint #cawl this model is intense! So many spidery limbs and cables, I’ve got to do him in sections.
More progress on #Cawl I was able to put all his little arms and wires on and get them painted up. A few parts so small I had to bring out the tweezers. Just one more round of details… isn’t that what I always say?
Think these will bring in some bright colors and liven it up a lot. It’s definitely odd working at this size but fun and I could chop with abandon since its was trash anyway, no need to be precious #trashbash #terrain
Someone called Vince Michael at the Inq group on facebook has been doing excellent terrain and a feature thats popped up for me a few times now has been the little prayer flags, so I thought I’d add a few here as well, its a nice way to bring in a bit of color and texture.
I attached a fan mesh to the roof and bent it up, added the #collages inside the exterior window displays and chopped up some clear blister pack plastic to make smashed windows.
Fired up the #airbrush a bit, starting to build up base colors on the #strip mall and objectives, I wish I’d learned the silly putty masking trick earlier could have saved so many rolls of tape #model #terrain #painting
It seems like every #postapocalyptic gang must get their costumes from sporting goods stores and sex shops, so any good apoc landscape has to have a strip like this. It’s a long way to go for a joke but I’m amused.
I found an interesting bit of packaging material, cut off a chunk of it and decided to make a #miniature strip mall. I used a few #trashbash doors misc hardware and a cookie tray for the roof, and stamped out names with an old label maker.
Since the #stripmall has an opened side I’ll need something for the interior. I’m not ready to undertake making full shops for this one, and just cramming it with rubble feels like a cop out, so closed shops with security gates and tarps it is!
I’ve got to get this in here before mounting it to a base, so I flipped it over and bent a scrap of mesh for the gates, backed it with foil, or cloth and filled them with bubble wrap. I added some scrap wood pillars between the shops and am calling it ready to mount #modeling #miniature #terrain #postapocalyptic #trashbash
One last touch, broken windows from blisterpack plastic!
Let there be lights! I was scared to try lighting it but it was much easier that I expected.
Just three hours and bits I happened to have. Now it’s got three white #led in the floor, two red for the engines, three yellow for the crew compartment and cockpit and a green for the coffee maker.
