Casting cement progress
I’m able to make about three per week and try to keep my molds full. It still takes awhile but I’m getting quite a collection of faces cast. I’ll be excited to have these filling my #sectetgarden #cement #art #kingdomdeath
Mold prepped
Prepped another #lifecast mold for some #cement casting. This time I filled it with scrap metal, chicken wire and gears, and rather than make it a full block I’ve hollowed out negative space for the head shape. I’m hoping this comes out to be the head of my #DonQuixote #sculpture

Testing out the lifecast

Testing out the lifecast self portrait on my #DonQuixote commission. I’m not totally sold on this face but there’s some definite potential here. Just seeing the face and head there completes the form and makes it feel more like a who rather than an it. And this wonky cast has a certain charm and lots of character. I’m definitely going to keep it in mind while I continue. #art #sculpture via Instagram http://ift.tt/2x8p9h7
casts

Broke open the molds. These are some of the best casts yet. The caulk mold for the horse skull flattened out a lot since it didn’t have a mother mold but it ended up looking a bit dino, and picked up the syran wrap texture of cracks. #skulls #art #cement via Instagram http://ift.tt/2ttNVXc
