Testing out the lifecast
Testing out the lifecast self portrait on my #DonQuixote commission. I’m not totally sold on this face but there’s some definite potential here. Just seeing the face and head there completes the form and makes it feel more like a who rather than an it. And this wonky cast has a certain charm and lots of character. I’m definitely going to keep it in mind while I continue. #art #sculpture via Instagram http://ift.tt/2x8p9h7
I guess
I guess this is what I look like. Self portrait in hydrocal. I’d intended for this to be the head for #DonQuixote but it came out with a bit more ‘character’ than I intended. #lifecasting #alginate #art #sculpture via Instagram http://ift.tt/2w7rEmr
sketch
I missed posting last night, so here is a second sketch for a tilting #donquixote #art #drawing #copicmarkers via Instagram http://ift.tt/2uD9zwu
Donquixote commission progress
Another view of my #donquixote commission #sculpture in progress. The welding mask is temporary, just to visualize how the head will be, still a lot of welding, cutting, bending, and eventually cement casting to go, but excited to see him take form. #art via Instagram http://ift.tt/2saG3cw
mask,
I added a welding mask, fan meshes, vents, and some other bits, temporarily, to see the blocking better. A full shot of my #DonQuixote ComicCon #sculpture so far. #art via Instagram http://ift.tt/2smKG7E
